did you all enjoy the long weekend? what did you do ?

i'm sure (and hope) you had a better time than me. didn't go nowhere except to weddings and endless weddings from 30th may up to yesterday. B-O-R-I-N-G. a planned vacation had to be cancelled because my son has to attend extra classes during the holiday.

attending weddings = migraine. always the case for me. not because of occassion. because of the weather. and the weather is extreme these days. ridiculously hot in the mornings and rain & thunders in the afternoons. so when i don't attend wedding, i wander about the house trying to stay indoor as much as possible.



i end up doing this. decoupaging an old basket and a biscuit tin.

I hope you are having a great week so far. Mine didn't start too well. I've finally had the 'jamin amah' process done. The freaking 'office' which I had to go back and forth 4 times (!) is updating its new system and every transaction was bloody slow. And when I thought its over, I got to my parking and found a scratch on my car. Though not serious..just a little..there on the bottom side..apa panggil tu..skirting?..I must have grazed it on some divider earlier when I made a rough turn to park quickly. Urgghh!! I'm soo getting an agent next time.

Anyway its over, thats a relief. I had a nice lunch in a nice place afterwards. Hmm..the place is cool and breezy despite alfresco on a hot afternoon.

Teka la sendiri d mana aku lunch ni. Ordered butter prawn.Nda alang-alang ok prawn nya. Tiga ekor besar-besar! dalam semangkuk buttersauce!

I felt much much better after the prawn. You know when life sucks, if you just breathe deeply, take a while, think nice things you'll find reasons to be cheerful.


Remember my crafty project? Done! in record time. Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!

make over

Konon-konon mau ber kreatif sedikit di rumah ni. Gotta couple of wicker baskets lying around in the store. I decided to do some make over.

Spray them white.

I have kept these perca-perca kain from last baby's pillowcase and some curtains leftover. The idea is to line the basket with these kain.

To turn it to this. This is a ready-made one.

Wish me luck, k. (kesian bah..basic sewing ja ba ni kan..pun kesusahan).

And then while cleaning outside the house, I got depressed seeing my old wooden chair.

what an eye-sore! (S & V, memang high time kan for make-over!)

So I paint it white. Penat juga mencat ni. Dan cat kayu lambat kering. Balik-balik ter chipped.

I want to pad the seat and put cushions. I don't have enough perca kain to DIY. This one has to be contract out la. (Actually si whimsy punya kain yang dia tidak beli di Tawau tu cantik kan. Seat berbunga, pillow dia polka dot, ngam sekali. Haiyaa..).

away from home

The day before hari raya haji, we went round the kampung watching people preparing Raya. Lawn being mowed, dried leaves being burnt, buluh stacked up for lemang.

Somehow we ended at the beach, away from the buzzes, away from home, just staring into horizon.

Perfect weather, cool breeze.

Immediately we gathered the kids and had a day out at the beach.

Pantai Ayer Pancur Hitam. Popular spot for mandi manda di laut.

First they hit the playground.

Then, off to the water. Feeling the ripples in their feet.

In the end, in the water they go , splashing about till sunset.

These 2 (Helmy & Haiqal) determined to push the log into the sea.

And what of my raya? As usual frantic. 8.30 am people started streaming in from masjid, and I was still in the shower, having just finished cooking the last dish. No time for pictures. They were lots of people and we were kept on our toes refilling the dish. When it was over, masing-masing berlimpangan penat, dengan baju raya pun pelanting, tinggal pakai tshirt ja. Panas.

The guys then changed to tshirt too and went off to the slaughtering place. Gotong royong melapah kerbau. (No gory pictures).

But the next morning, we breakfast soto daging..

Lately I develop an interest in flower arranging. Once I got started I became a bit addicted. Every week I go out and buy vases and flowers.
Orchids. This was done today.
